Insurance

There are so many questions that patients have with regards to their health insurance benefits when scheduling their initial appointment. We are providers for the insurance companies shown below; however, there are many different individual plans that you can choose or that your employer has chosen for you. This makes it difficult to explain over the phone whether you have coverage for services rendered at Scott Family Health.

We will contact your insurance company as a courtesy for you while you are here in our office. We highly recommend for you to be familiar with your policy and benefits prior to your initial visit. It is crucial for you to bring your most current insurance card to your first visit.

Most patients with coverage have either a co-payment or an annual deductible, both of which are due at the time of service. In cases where the deductible has not been met, we collect our cash rate at the time of service and will bill any remaining balance once the claim comes back from insurance. These amounts are pre-determined by your insurance company and is an agreement between you (the patient) and your insurance company.

We gladly accept all health insurances that allow benefits under your policy. However, Colorado Medicaid and Military Insurance (Tricare) do not cover Chiropractic.

Automobile Insurance

On July 1, 2003 state law in Colorado reformed drastically. Colorado is now a TORT state (Fault), previously a PIP state (No-Fault). Our office is committed to educating our patients on the ever-changing state laws. Medical Payments Coverage (Med-Pay) currently is an OPTIONAL extension of coverage on one’s auto policy. It is incredibly dangerous to be driving without this coverage. Med-Pay covers each individual in your vehicle if you were to be involved in a motor vehicle accident, regardless of fault. If you are involved in an accident and the other driver is deemed at-fault, their insurance company is liable for you and your passengers. However, settlement and litigation can take months, even years. A possible worst-case scenario is that the other driver may not be insured. Having Med-Pay ensures that you and your passengers can receive excellent, quality care and your medical bills are paid within a timely manner, versus waiting and possibly paying for services rendered out of pocket. If you have questions, please contact our staff. We are here to protect you!

Worker’s Compensation

Our office is here for you and your employees. Dealing with a Workers Compensation (Work Comp) injury can be a confusing and frustrating process. It is critical that if you are injured on the job to contact your employer immediately to create an injury claim. It is a requirement to have prior authorization to seek chiropractic services. Authorization is given by your Work Comp Physician. Feel free to contact our staff with any questions regarding Worker’s Compensation.
